Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about PDF Metadata Editor

Can I clear common metadata fields for privacy?
Yes. Use Remove for an individual editable field, or choose Remove standard metadata and XMP to clear document-level properties. Blank inputs in Keep mode leave existing fields unchanged. Reinspect the downloaded PDF; visible content, annotations, attachments and other embedded information are outside this cleanup.

What to check in your result

Document-level metadata and XMP cleanup does not remove page content, comments, attachments, form values, signatures or identifiers elsewhere in the PDF. Reinspect the saved copy.

This behavior was checked with synthetic test files on 9 October 2026. Results depend on your source document.
